Some MTProto proxies add advertising channels. This isn’t dangerous, but annoying. Choose a provider without ads.
Which Proxy to Choose
By IP Type

Selection Criteria
- Region — must match the account’s phone number region.
- Stability — proxy shouldn’t go down or change IP.
- Reputation — IP not blacklisted.
- Speed — delays affect Telegram performance.
Setting Up in Telegram
- Open Settings.
- Go to Data and Storage → Connection Type.
- Select Use Proxy.
- Tap Add Proxy.
- Choose type (SOCKS5 or MTProto).
- Enter details: server, port, login/password (for SOCKS5) or secret (for MTProto).
Important Rules
One Proxy = One Account
Don’t use one proxy for multiple accounts. IP links accounts together.
Don't Change Without Reason
Every proxy change is an IP change. Telegram sees this.
Have a Backup
Keep a spare proxy in case the main one goes down.
Check Before Using
Make sure the IP isn’t blacklisted and geolocation is correct.
Common Problems
Proxy Won’t Connect
- Check the details (server, port, login, password).
- Make sure the proxy is working (ask your provider).

Telegram Requires Premium
