2FA (Two-Factor Authentication)

An additional password for logging into an account. Even if someone gets the SMS code, they won’t be able to log in without the 2FA password. Required for purchased accounts.

API Hash / App ID

A pair of application identifiers for working with Telegram API. App ID is a number, API Hash is a string. They affect session trust. Can be obtained at my.telegram.org or used from official clients.

Device ID

A unique device identifier. Telegram assigns it based on device characteristics: model, OS, client version. If many accounts log in from the same Device ID — they all become linked.

DC (Data Center)

Telegram data centers. Accounts are assigned to a DC based on the phone number region.
DCRegion
DC1, DC3USA
DC2, DC4Europe
DC5Asia

FLOOD_WAIT

An error meaning “wait X seconds”. Appears when making too many requests. The number after FLOOD_WAIT is how long to wait. Repeated attempts increase the time.

MTProto

Telegram’s protocol for data transmission. MTProto proxies are special proxies that only work with Telegram and mask traffic.

Premium

Telegram’s paid subscription. Accounts with Premium receive more trust from the system — a spammer wouldn’t pay for a subscription.

Trust Score

An internal account trust rating. Not displayed, but affects limits, verification frequency, and how quickly you get spamblocks. Increases with age, stability, and absence of complaints.

Verification

A code request to confirm account ownership. Comes when logging in from a new device, changing regions, or suspicious activity.

Environment

Everything Telegram sees when you connect: IP, device, region, timezone. Parameter mismatches (e.g., German IP + Moscow time) raise suspicion.

Warm-up Period

A 3-5 day period after logging into an account when you need to minimize activity. Telegram pays extra attention to new sessions.

Proxy

An intermediate server between you and Telegram. Types include SOCKS5 and MTProto. Telegram sees the proxy’s IP, not yours.

Residential IP

An IP from a home internet provider. The most reliable type — regular people use them. Datacenter and VPN IPs have worse reputations.

Session

An authorized connection to an account. Created on login, persists until terminated. One account can have multiple sessions (phone, computer, web).

Spamblock

A restriction from Telegram for suspicious activity. Can be partial (can’t message strangers) or full (blocked). Check status via @SpamBot.

Shadow Ban

A restriction Telegram doesn’t notify you about. Messages are sent but don’t reach the recipient. Check via @SpamBot.
